Gold Top 1971 - coming soon

As I write this, I'm getting more excited. A journey that I started back in February 2021 is nearing completion. This is the creation of my Delta Green Campaign, set on the Suffolk coast in spring of 1971. I will be publishing this soon as "Gold Top 1971", a self-contained mythos Campaign suitable for Delta Green or most other mythos related rulesets that work in the modern age.  As per the Community Content licence from Arc Dream it will, of course, be FREE.

Why 1971? Well, the Suffolk coast then was absolutely teeming with story hooks and oddities. Nuclear weapons testing sites, US air force bases, nuclear power plants designed such that they could create weapons-grade plutonium, self-declared micronations thumbing their noses up to the authorities, isolated hamlets previously evacuated for secret military experiments... it was a story-rich environment.

Compared to Norfolk, the reserve these days of the moneyed classes from London, Suffolk is achingingly remote and quiet. My own view is that this is due to the rivers. The Orwell, the Deben, the Alde, the Blyth; they cut  off vast chunks of the county and limit transport options. This leads to a  much more rural and isolated section of East Anglia than in the north. A perfect place to set a mythos horror campaign then!

Gold Top  uses a Node-Structure that you will see in many of my products (eg. The Witches of Wenlock Liberty), which is designed to make it easier to GM complex and nuanced scenarios. This is in contrast to the Storylets method that I also use (e.g. The Thirst), which is more about significantly minimising GM preparation time.

Keep and eye out here, and in the meantime have a look at some of the art!

Er, I think we're out of our depth here!

Fantastic! Im working on a campaign set in West Suffolk in the Edwardian era: the coastal region though is as you say great, and i was there in the 1970s, and grew up with stories of Shimpling Street, the Peasenhall murder, weirdness at Orford Ness and Sizewell brooding over the area where Black Toby's ghost walked. :) Will definotely run your campaign when you release it!

Awesome - hope you will like it! I have a real affinity for the area too
