The Thirst

In the fiefdom of Covasna, south-east Sylvania, 1897 IC, winter is approaching, and the old Baron Mihai Covasna has not been seen for months. The Baron’s eldest son Casimir has declared his father dead and has travelled to Castle Drakenhof to pay fealty to Vlad von Carstein.  

Meanwhile, the winter storms are the worst they have been for as long as anyone can remember. Wolves have been driven out of the mountains looking for food, and the rivers are bursting their banks. The peasants of Senkehof huddle in their huts, rub their hands over meagre fires and thank the gods that their village has a communal food store.  

Then one Festag in Ulriczeit three strangers arrive…

The Thirst represents a gritty, low fantasy setting, where the players will need to make difficult decisions and will need all their wits to survive the Undead menace, which external events will soon unleash upon the community. 

The Campaign Setting can use the existing story elements as-is, or be played as a Sandbox, allowing the players to take the narrative where they wish.  

Provided in The Thirst are: 

• 8 detailed locations to explore. There is ominous Castle Senkhof, the towering Gallerschlosse Monastery, and crumbling Moarte Keep, as well as detailed villages and hamlets. 
• 43 fleshed out, and fully-statted, Non-Player Characters
• 3 new monsters, including The Mourngul
• 15 intermeshed storylets which can be played with minimal GM prep 
• High definition Battlemaps in PNG and Universal VTT format
• Foundry VTT Compendia for the NPCs and New Monsters

This is an unofficial fan publication and is totally unauthorised by Cubicle 7, Games Workshop and any other organisation. It is available totally free as a fan tribute.

Note: as a non-commercial project, I can't provide a Print-on-Demand project, but I can give you the files needed.  All you need to do is create a free account on Lulu or similar and within a minute or so you can order you own copy. In the UK it should be about £10 delivered.
